ccleaner
« on: November 13, 2006, 08:25:57 PM »
Hello,
I am thinking about using ccleaner, but I'm not sure if I should. You see the last time I used a cleaner, it was cyber scrub and it wiped out my OS completely. Needless to say, I had to reinstall my entire OS. Cansomeone please help.

CCleaner is fairly safe and shouldn't create issues...CyberScrub is listed as a rogue app at the site i trust the most.

Just make sure to un-check the Yahoo Toolbar addition during the install. You don't need that.

Would I steer you wrong?  ;)

You can download it without the Yahoo toolbar by choosing Basic from http://www.ccleaner.com/download/builds.aspx.  It's the same as the Standard Build except for the toolbar.

Go to their home page, http://www.ccleaner.com/, and click on the link for Click here for a Quick Tour....  They also have a support forum on their site.  And, don't hesitate to ask questions about CCleaner right here.  Many of us are familiar with CCleaner.

Ccleaner is an excelent Crap Cleaner for a few reasons:
      Its easy to use
Its not hard to remove the files that you dont want
      It doesent hurt your computer
It goes through the registry, but only weeds through the entrys that are safer to delete (always back up when prompted)
      Its just SO simple!
