Dual Monitor Problems
« on: November 14, 2006, 07:20:51 PM »
HP Pav.  Celeron D, 768MB, Radeon X1300 vid. card. Antec 350W P.S.
After installing the Radeon to run dual monitors everything slowed down, failed, etc. The monitors work fine. I'm using this system for audio recording only. I've reloaded everything, even windows. I've exchanged the vid.card, twice. The only Bios update available from HP deals strictly with a printer/USB issue.
When I put the system back on single monitor w/ onboad vid.card, it's O.K.  All problems get worse with running time. The more demanding the program, the worse it is.

My recording program is Stenberg Cubase SX3. It asks for 512MB RAM. The Radeon has 256 built in, is it using some of my 768 as well? how much?

HP tech sup. said add more mem.

ATI Radeon said update Bios and chipset. (What does this mean)? :-?

Thanks
