Sound quit working
« on: November 28, 2006, 05:56:12 PM »
I was trying to get my samsung vid camcorder to play through my pc when all of a sudden my sound goes dead.
I had the cam plugged into my pc via usb cord in the back that I usually use for my card reader.
I was having no luck with this so I plugged it into the front usb slot that I use for my TV(Hauppage Software).
No luck here either, so I decided to give up.
Now my  I am getting no sound out of any of my devices, TV, Real Player, etc...
All usb cords are in place with previous devices plugged back in, card reader works.
Still no sound.
I tried plugging the TV device into the back usb slot and it worked fine except for the sound was still dead.
I've had a new mother board put in about a year ago with no problems since.

Go to Control Panel / System / Hardware / Device Manager...scroll the list to your sound device.

Any yellow exclamation points ? ?

If so re-boot and re-install your sound drivers.

If it's onboard sound they will be on your motherboard drivers CD...
