Before I proceed, is there anyone overly familiar with them? I have to go look at one, then I will come back with a better report. It is a WASP label maker. I apologize but I don't know anything beyond that yet.

Ok gang, here's the low down.

It is a Wasp WPL606 Industrial Barcode Printer. When they go to print, they are getting a paper jam error. Then they go to manually feed the paper and get an overheating error. Yesterday, we had a power outage and some think a power surge might have done some damage, but it is plugged into a good  surge protector. So far, I have unhooked and unplugged it then let it sit for a bit (over night actually). That didn't solve the problem. Just now, I cleaned the rollers with alcohol and we're waiting a bit then trying it again.

      Anybody have any ideas?

I don't know anything about them but I see that an online seller I'm familiar with sells them.  Might be worth looking at TigerDirect's offering for that label printer; it's here:

Edit: OK, I did not see your second post until after I intially made this post.  Now, I think I misunderstood your original post.  Did you mean that you were going to shop for a label printer or go look at one that might be damaged to try to determine what is wrong with it?

Trying to figure out what is wrong with one currently in use. Sorry I wasn't more specific in that first post.  :)

I see these high speed label printers are rather pricey.  A UPS might be a good thing to give better protection than a surge protector.

Yeah they are. I'm not sure I can make much of a case for a UPS unless it was indeed a surge-related problem. Their reasoning will be "Well we forked out X amount for the label maker and X amount for the blah blah blah".

Is any form of tech support available from the manufacturer?  Is it under warranty?

Waiting to hear back from them. I had to submit my tech issues in the form of a ticket.
