Computer cases

I like to see myself as computer idoit not knowing much till i do it once so i like to ask first.  I want to switch my computer case out for one that looks better and so on.  I have a sony vaio that i change the graphics card and installed a wireless interet card into also.  When looking at cases is there anything i should keep in mind about sizes and how hard will switching everthing over be.

The Sony VAIO is the computer you're talking about, right?  Frankly, I think this is a goofy idea.  Nevertheless, if you really want to do this, I believe you need to confirm that the Sony does not have proprietary components (motherboard, power supply, etc.) that will not fit in a standard ATX case.  I don't know the answer to that.  

You might post the exact model of your Sony.  Perhaps someone can help with that additional info.
