    hard drive not recognized

    Running a Dell Optiplex 270 with XP. It will not boot at all. Screen says strike F1 to retry or F2 to enter setup. I went in and looked at the boot sequence and it said the hard drive was not recognized. Help ?

      When did this start happening / added any new hardware lately?  If not, check the power and data cabling to the hard drive.  Make sure you ground yourself before touching anything inside the case.  Post back with the results.

        After careful consideration and deliberation, we replaced the harddrive.
