Website Blocking
« on: April 10, 2007, 10:05:25 PM »
I have been looking for a way to block certain websites so that they cannot be accessed from my computer. It seems as though every answer to this question only applies to Windows. Does anyone know of a way to do this on a Mac with the Safari browser?

SkipJohnson, if you have a router, try entering the router administration configuration.
Your router may have filtering software or the ability to block specific URL's.

Look through the Safari settings and see if you can find something for internet filtering, specifically a RASCI setting, or other identifying software.

Also, if that doesn't work, switch to FireFox, and then go to the following URL:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/search?q=parental&status=4

Download FireFox at:
http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/

You will find that FireFox is more capable than Safari... Safari is very limited, and just not very supportive of all scripting.
