System Restore in Safe mode
« on: May 26, 2007, 10:12:09 PM »
How do you System Restore in safe mode for Windows XP Home?
Been trying in Control Panel but I can't get to the Category View.

If theres like a shortcut or another way to use System Restore in Safe Mode, please let me know.
Thanks.

Therefore, you cannot undo a restoration that you performed when the computer was in safe mode.
:o Let me think if its safe or not.....

Is there any specific reason why you want to do this in Safe Mode?  Can't boot into normal mode?

I just did it and my computer is fine.
Before, it wouldn't shut down. it would say Logging Off and then Saving Your Settings and then Windows is Shutting Down and then it stays there.
I left it for half an hour as I watched a tv show and it still didnt shut down.
Because it wouldn't shut down, i couldn't system restore. It could shutdown in safe mode thats why.

Ah, gotcha.  Well, I hope it continues to work out.  If you run into that problem again, we'll definitely want to look into it.  Are you being a good boy and keeping up on your protection?

Well, I think it's because Raptor has gone on holidays (or so he said), and there's no-one to yell at spammers.

Also, I think that CH is trying to lock Resolved topics, as well as call them Resolved.

EDIT: WHOA! I look at unread topics, and like half of them are locked, and they're mostly CBMatt! Looks like he's taken on board the roles of a moderator.

EDIT: Hey! What happened to the Last edit on ------- by ------ thing? It's disappeared!

Heh, you guys make it sound like I went crazy with it.  It's just about 20 or so topics on the malware board to keep them out of the way.

Don't worry, it's still there.  But it doesn't appear if you edit a post within 600 seconds of submitting it.  Go ahead and edit it now; the little note will show up.

Yeah Dark Blade. I just edited this post
http://www.computerhope.com/forum/index.php/topic,36348.msg224044.html#msg2
24044

It says the 'last edited on' thing at the bottom. CH is still normal.

Well, I'm sorted for the night. It's kinda boring at nights in Australia because no-ones really posting much on CH.
