Blank screen and beeping on warm reboot

This is an intermittent problem occurring only on warm reboots.

My screen displays nothing, and the tower sounds a repeating beep tone...one long beep, one short beep; the short beep is a lower tone than the long beep, so it sounds like an old British ambulance.  I have to power down completely, then power up and everything works fine.

graphics card ...problem..type dxdiag in the run to check it....as this happens after a download of sp2?

No SP2. All systems normal according to DxDiag.

Check to see if any cables or cards need to be fastened

It could be as simple as the motherboard moving just slightly as a result of temperature.........open the case ( with the power off ) and reseat all your cards and the Ram .......and it wouldnt hurt to blow out any dust while your in there .
