“Services and Controller app has encountered a problem and needs to close”.

I continually get this error over and over again after about five minutes of being logged into my computer. After this error box pops up and I close it another box pops up and gives me one minute before the system restarts.

The Error report says:
szAppName : services.exe     szAppVer : 5.1.2600.2180     szModName : unknown
szModVer : 0.0.0.0     offset : 00955592

Stored in the files:
C:\DOCUME~1\Jacko\LOCALS~1\Temp\WERc2d6.dir00\services.exe.mdmp
C:\DOCUME~1\Jacko\LOCALS~1\Temp\WERc2d6.dir00\appcompat.txt

I have checked with two anti virus programs and have removed what I think is most of virus’s and any spyware that is on my system. That has led me to believe that it is not a virus which is causing the problem but something different entirely. Also the error started happening after I used “Disk Cleaner” to delete all my temporary files, and (I know really stupid of me) deleted some large programs that I thought useless such as KasperSky Trial that had run out by just right clicking and deleting the file. I believe that I may have accidently corrupted my system files or something somehow.

Here is my Hijack this report (Yes I know theres still probably some Spyware/Virus programs still present but I highly doubt that it is what is causing the problem):

Try opening a command prompt and type:

    Code: [Select]
    sfc /scannow
You will need access to some form of the original data files, like an installation disk for XP.

I don't know much about looking at HJT logs, though hopefully someone such as CBMatt will stumble upon this thread and take a look for you.
    System specs:
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 (up to 3.3 stock V and air)
    ASUS Striker Extreme
    XFX 8600GT XXX Edition
    2x 1gB Corsair XMS2 DDR2-800
    Seagate Barracuda 320gB SATA
    Raidmax Ninja 918 (520W ATXV2.0 PSU)

Just did the scan you suggested, and it finished but gave no report or anything once it did. So I don't know if I'm missing any files or not.

but how's your computer running now? and did you do the hijackthis in safe mode? because it works better in normal mode.

try these online scanners in the mean time

      house call
      edwido online

Nope it went away for a few hours then came back :(
Used the House call. Came up with a few virus's and said i had all these outdated files or something.

Yes i used HJT in safe mode because at the time i couldn't stay on my comp for more then 5 minutes, i have since discovered a command that can abort the shutdown process "shutdown -a" but it makes my computer unable to open some programs and become "non responsive"
