computer dies

ok im doing this again but i need help!! my computer when i start it up it like dies then restarts itself then dies by itself again..my friend told me its because i need to reinstall windows 2000 i dunno how that would help tho....does it?

does this happen in safe mode........hold down the f8 key on boot <safe mode> does just keep rebooting...or dies. win rip.....go in to the control panel/system/advanced/settings <startup /recovery>/system failure/ and uncheck the automatically restart option....how does it do it now..

ya..it keeps rebooting itself and i dont know how to get the main screen up

oh oops

i cant do that tho i cant get the start button or anything like 5 seconds into it restarting it dies

Sounds like either a bad power supply, or a nasty trojan to me...   :P

      kaitlinishot......Do I take it that you have no operating system disk or disks of any sort ?  

      I think you should beg borrow or steal a o/s disk somewhere .
      As your friend suggested you may well have to format the hard drive and re install the operating system .

      What happened to the o/s cd ( cds ) which came with the pc ?
