long beep coming out from my desktop PC
    « on: October 10, 2007, 02:13:31 AM »
    Hi,

Wondering if anyone might be able to help me here. I have a computer desktop built by a friend of mine. The problem with it is that it produces a long beep everytime it is turned on every morning. after a minute or two, it becomes a short beep but this goes for about a minute. Then, the beep goes away.

The funny part is that after using it for a while and re-starting it, there is no beep at all. It seems to me that if it's restarted after being on for a while, i don't get any beeps at all. But if you leave it overnight off and turn it on the next day, then i get the problem.

Not sure if this is caused by the incompatibility of the hardwares being put together in the box.

Here are some of the computer parts in the box.
    Processor: Intel(R) Core (TM)2 CPU 6600 @2.40 GHz
    SCSI: GIGABYTE GBB36X Controller

Let me know if you need to know more specific parts.

    Thank you in advance
