Reformat pc
« on: December 02, 2007, 05:41:09 AM »
Hi everyone.

I'm wanting to reformat my computer due to it being very slow and full of junk. But not sure on how to do it, i have looked on the net for tutorials but they are confusing to me lol.

One thing i am unsure about is that i don't have the cds to my pc, only the windows xp disk and the disk to my graphics card.

It's ok that you don't have CDs for the other things, you can download most (or all) of the drivers you'll need from the manufacturers' websites. I advise you do that before you format.

If you can tell us your full system specs (models and manufacturers of parts) I'm sure we can help you find everything you need.

Also, you'll want to backup any important files, music, etc. that you can't replace. Best to back them up onto a CD since you'll be formatting, unless you'd rather place them on another partition of the hard drive.

Well that will save a lot of trouble right there.

The next step will be to use those programs to create your recovery CDs/DVDs. The discs created should contain everything you need to format and reinstall all the software back to factory settings.

Again, before you format, make sure you've backed up anything important.
