Installing new cartridge in printer
« on: December 18, 2007, 06:40:01 AM »
I use WIN XP and a Dell 720 printer. I inserted a new black cartridge and
proceeded with the installation. When I enetered the required information
in the window that appears when a cartridge is replaced, the arrow to move on to printing would not highlight, and I could not proceed.
Has anyone ever experienced anything like that?

Roughly I had the same problem on an Xp machine, i just exited out of the wizard and ran a test page of my own. Not sure why it would freeze, but i have had no problems since. Maybe this will help

No. If I try to print something, the same window or popup or whatever
those are called appears and I am unable to advance .

I tried removing and reinserting the cartridge several times.

I don't know if it could be a physical problem with the printer or a software problem.

OK, problem solved. On the advice of a Staples rep, I removed both cartridges
and then on the installation form indicated that I was installing an old color one and a new black one and it went ok.

I had not been clicking both little circles for the color one.
