Error message: Windows could not update the file %1 from %2
« on: January 04, 2008, 02:35:34 PM »
I own a hp pavillion 7855 with a pentium processor and Windows ME.  I always get the same message at start up.  Windows could not update the %1 from %2  %1:%2  Windows could not upgrade one or more system files before starting. Then it says the system may or may not work properly.  Then it says press any key.  When I press a key sometimes my main screen comes on without a problem and sometimes I get other error messages.  What does The initial error message mean?  Thanks

I did go to the microsoft support website and it did solve my problem. I did not know where to go for the answer. I am very grateful for the help. Thank you very much.
