    DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME (CANADA)
    « on: March 13, 2008, 03:41:39 PM »
This is no biggie, but just an annoyance - Ontario has decided to start DST three weeks early this year and a little programme I have running called DS CLOCK {http://www.dualitysoft.com/dsclock/?about&version=} which synchronizes with various time servers around the world will not change - every time I ask it to run a time check it backs up an hour.   I have e-mailed the programme manager twice without response - has anyone come across a patch for this programme - it has a neat little always on display which can be placed anywhere on the screen and gives the time and date over whatever is running.

ianbell, does Windows show the correct time?  If so, then DS CLOCK does not automatically synchronize with Windows, right?  If that's the case, the link patio posted may not solve the problem with DS CLOCK, it seems to me, since it's a Windows update.  I believe Windows users who've been getting their automatic updates already have the update needed for the new daylight savings time dates.

Sorry guys, but Windows update don't apply as still running W98SE [so shoot me] - I adjusted system clock manually [duh] which also resets DSCLOCK but whenever I try to run a synchro it backs up both my system clock and DSCLOCK by 1 hour to whatever US timeserver I try, and I've tried about 6 of them - like I said, it's no biggie, just an annoyance, but I do like things to work properly!

...every time I ask it to run a time check it backs up an hour.   ...

I've used Dimension4 here for a long time,  to set the clock.   I don't believe it will do the little display that you mentioned.

      Using Win98SE here.

I just put up with it.     In that I changed my time zone, and unchecked "Automatically adjust clock for daylight saving changes".        If I think about it too much, it gives me a headache.
But the time on this computer is right.   :)

After that first weekend in April  - is that when it used to change to DST?-    then I'll check those settings one more time,  do what I need to do,  and be ok again until the end of October.

Have you examined those settings?  and could you make a change there to solve it?
