Monitor display is not proper.

The display of my monitor is not proper.sometimes

1> It's get very bright screen.
2> sometime It dont display anything completely blank.
3> sometime It's screen flicker continously for sometime.

I dont think its a any s/w problem beacuse after formatting the computer the problem is same.
when I start the computer for a while the screen of computer is blank and
when i hit my monitor  :-[ the screen start displaying ..

My system configuration is :
AMD athlon 64 processor
ASUS Motherboard
LG 17" Monitor
video adapter of SIS.

    from you saying you hit your monitor i would guess its an old CRT, and from that i would conclude that it is going bad and you should start looking into getting a new monitor.

    Check your cables, adapters...
    Also, if you could manage, to test your monitor and connect it to another working computer if it will be the same...
