Mass media storage devices not read
« on: March 20, 2008, 09:16:38 AM »
Hello everyone!

I was looking through the previous questions and found several that are similar to mine but not exact.

I have an HP Pavilion notebook computer running Windows XP.  Recently I had to have the USB ports replaced and everything was running fine.  Then out of nowhere my mass media storage devices stopped working through them.  I have tried plugging in my external floppy and a memory stick.  Both devices work on my tower so I know they are not the problem.  The weird thing is it's only the storage devices that don't work.  Anything else I plug in there (mouse, etc) works fine.

I hope someone can give me some direction!

Thanks!

How are they reported in Disk Management in the tower ? ?
To get there right click My Computer and select manage then disk management...again right click each device and select Properties...
Report back with what it says.

Who did the repairs ? ?
