computer wont start

When i turn on computer i get an intermittant beeping noise and nothing on the moniter. After rebooting a few times it will start.

    Yeah, I'm having the same problem: When I turn on my computer, it just freezes with a blank screen, without even showing the BIOS splash screen thing. I can tell it's on, since the power light indicator thingy lights up and I can still open the CD drive tray. And the really weird part is that if I restart it once or twice, it works fine.
    (I have an HP Pavilion ze5185 laptop with PhoenixBIOS (can't remember the revision number) and Windows XP Home Edition w/ SP2.)
    Please help me!!! It's getting really annoying!
