ram order

with 3 slots on motherboard and 512 mb capacity, does it make any difference what size sticks are put in and in what order? ie: 1 512mb, 2 128mb and 1 256 or 2 256. and also is there any difference in what order they go in slots.

rgray.....I would refer to your MOBO 's manual to be certain . Your board may not accept a 512 stick in one dimm socket . I also believe that if you are going to use say 2 of the 3 dimms ...then I would use dimm 1 and dimm 2 and have dimm 3 enmpty , but again check your MOBO 's manual .
