Hard Disk Drive Acting Weird
« on: April 10, 2008, 03:25:08 AM »
hello there,
I have a computer pentium 4,2.4Ghz, 512mb ddr ram, 2 hdd each of them 40gb.
The problem was the hdd.I have C: and D:
Last night in the middle of watching my movie,i'm trying to access a folder named "movie" in the D: drive, and its not accessible (just a few second before it was ok)saying the folder might be corrupted.
So, i just try to restart my computer.
After the computer turn on back i was suprised the D: label change to D:Local Disk
before this i already renamed the D: drive as D:Superb Backup, but that wasn't the best part yet. Trying to access the D: by double clicking it, an error popup, "D:\is not accessible, the file or directory is corrupted and unreadable.I also check the D: properties by right clicking it, and it was not 40gb, it was 0bytes.So, i open partition magic 8, and i can see the software detect my D: but the name kinda weird D:?m? (i attach a screen shot)

This is the 3nd time it's happened to me, the  1st time i just try to re-connect the IDE cable, uninstall the HDD drive driver from the device manager and then it solve, the 2nd time  i try to do the same but its not working then  i have to Format my HDD, i know this time when i format the hdd it will work back, but there are lots of important data in that 40gb. so please help me..

I will attach some screen shot and hijack log.

Please, if anybody have any idea.Right now i will try hook this HDD in another pc as a slave just to see what happen.
