    recycle bin on remote network machine
    « on: April 14, 2008, 09:32:33 AM »
    i accidently pressed delete ( not shift+delete)  on a file in a shared network folder..

    i then logged on ( remote desktop-ed) to the machine ( which has the shared folder) , with my user account/pwd ( i.e. not administrator )... and i don't see the file in desktop->recycle bin

    Note: I have 'Display Delete Confirmation Dialog'( aka DDCD ) option unchecked on my local machine (i.e it doesn't ask for confirmation when i press Delete)

    1. Local machine C:\names.txt

    A. DDCD checked
             Del ->Confirmation -> puts file in Recycle bin.
    Shift+del ->Confirmation -> deletes file permanently
    B. DDCD unchecked
             Del -> puts file in Recycle bin.
    Shift+del -> deletes file permanently

    2. Shared folder \\shared\c$\names.txt

    A. DDCD checked
             Del ->Confirmation -> Deletes File Permanently !!!
    Shift+del ->Confirmation -> deletes file permanently

    -- DDCD unchecked
             Del -> deletes file permanently !!!!!!!!!!!
    Shift+del -> deletes file permanently

    please tell me this is not so  :'(

    p.s: i see some green (recycle-bin-icon) files in remoteMachine\C:\Recycler - when i right click-> properties.. it says '2 files & 1 folder' etc.. how to restore these files ?

    thanks
