How to configure the Music Special Keyboard Key
    « on: April 26, 2008, 09:36:56 PM »
How do I configure the keyboard special key for Music.

At first, when I pressed it, Windows Media was invoked, then I installed ITunes, and now its the default application for that key.

How do I reconfigure it to run Windows Media or something else?

    Thanks in advance...
    Rafael

    Depends on the keyboard.

What is the exact make and model of your keyboard?

I took a browse of their website, there's no mention of a utility and nothing available for download for that model. Did it come with a CD?

im guessing its looking at what your default player is for mp3's.

right click on a music file (.mp3)
        choose open with...
tick the "always use this progam with this file type" box
open with WMP or ur other player

Cross fingers and press the media centre botton on keyboard

          Hi,

          Thanks for answering...but, didn't work.

The last thing related with music that I installed was iTunes, and guess what, it's the default app form the music key.

I guess that I will have to reinstall Windows Media...

            Hi there:

I simply reinstalled Windows Media, and the Special Music Key is now pointing to this application.

            Thanks for your concern!

But doing so you just did what Not Admin suggested you do, but went the long way about it. Glad you got it sorted out anyway.
