DDR 2, backwards compatible?

im about to get a new comp as a replacement for my old Dell comp, i want to take out the ram from my old comp and put it into the new one except im wondering, since the ram im takin out is DDR 1 and the new comp has DDR 2 slots, is DDR 2 backwards compatible with DDR 1?

Not likely. There's a notch in bottom of both type of memory. DDR1 won't even fit into a DDR2 slot. He would have broken the slot or the memory before even getting it in

no it does but i wanted to put in the ram from my older comp to increase my new comp's performance, but i just wish that ddr 2 was backwards compatible since that would save you $

even if it were backward compatible, it wouldn't increase your performance much because the total memory would slow down to the lowest stick installed.
A 1033MHz stick installed with a 533MHz stick will go 533MHz.

Not likely. There's a notch in bottom of both type of memory. DDR1 won't even fit into a DDR2 slot. He would have broken the slot or the memory before even getting it in

It's a common misconception that all Thai food is spice. Yes, there are some very spicy dishes, and not all Thais like them either. But there are also a large number of dishes that aren't spicy as well. Personally, I prefer not spicy.
