    Cabinet Screws...
    « on: May 05, 2008, 01:00:50 PM »
I have compaq presario S4250IN. Problem is that I can open only one side of the cabinet. The other side cannot be opened using normal screwdriver bcoz that side contains round screws with no cut but only contain a small hole.

Please help me. Are there any other screwdrivers avaliable?

A small hole? Are you sure they aren't rivets?

    Like in the picture above?

no, they aren't the same as in the picture.  They are very much thin and the round part is also small.

But are they rivets? Is the "hole" circular, and does it pass right through to the other side?

they arent thum screws are they? LOL

are they extruding your case? look on the side and see if they are poking out?

if not or only a little they are probably rivets.

Most likely the side you are opening makes it easy to take out the mobo plate.

Probably meaning only one side is accessible.

can you not take something out from one side?

I am sure they are rivets. I am confident about it. Now, how to open the other two sides ? bcoz i cannot take my motherboard out nd it makes attaching nd detaching process difficult. Should i buy a new cabinet ???

If they're rivets, the only way to take them out is to cut them, potentially damaging the case.

How often are you inserting and removing things inside the case? Unless you were putting something under the motherboard (which you shouldn't be), there's no reason to take it out unless you were replacing the motherboard.

Some cases do not open on both sides. Some have a bracket the motherboard is attached to that comes out from the one open side.

Still not clear on what you're trying to do. Could you supply some pictures?

                  Lordy, lordy.

My wife is 8 months, 3 weeks pregnant and laughed so hard she started having contractions.

                  Thanks for the laugh!
