    Acer TravelMate 360 Serious Issues
    « on: June 03, 2008, 03:57:14 AM »
I power on the system. It appears to be working normally, but after about 1 minute it powers off just as if someone pulled out the power cord and battery. The next time I try to turn it on, it stays on for an even shorter amount of time until it does not want to turn on at all. I have tried to replace the RAM and the Hard Drive but nothing has been helping. Any ideas would be great.

    Thanks in advance!

Is the inside of the computer case free of dust accumulation?  You may want to try using some compressed air and cleaning the inside...if it's a little messy in there.

It sounds like either an overheating problem or it could be power supply related.

The inside of the computer is virtually dust-free, although I still sprayed with water just to be on he safe side. I have (unbelievably) another Acer Travelmate 360 that has the same problem as the first. I have taken the power supplies in for checking and they are fine. All the fans are intact and functioning in the system and there is no sign of overheating. Is it possible for the power socket in the computer to expand, causing the plug to loose contact with the socket?

        Thanks,
        Tom

P.S. Just kidding with the water. I did use compressed air

I was going to recommend cola instead of water...it's been known to remove rust as well... ;D

Have you tried it with and witout the battery?  A/C as opposed to D/C?  Same issue?

Sorry about the delayed reply. Yes, I've taken the battery out with just the power supply in and visa-versa. Could it be the motherboard?
