    frozen on startup
    « on: June 22, 2008, 12:43:49 PM »
I had a virus that made my computer really slow, CPU usage would go to 100% for like 5 minutes when I started up and it was because I had like 20 services.exe's. and I couldn't look at any images on any webpage, it would just be an x, and a lot of programs wouldnt' even open like firefox and spybot from what I can remember. But now when I boot up its just frozen. I can move the mouse but not click anything or type anything. Does anyone know how I can fix this without reformatting? This is windows XP by the way.

oh and I'm obviously typing this from another computer.

Did you clean your computer like SuperDave asked / do you have stuff you can't do without, if not then reformatting may be the only 'clean' way to get you back up and running.

I worked on a system today that was so bad the only thing I could do was to wipe and reinstall.
