    Computer not booting
    « on: June 25, 2008, 07:17:05 AM »
First of all here's a run down of my system:

    MSI P6N SLI Platinum motherboard
Intel Core 2 Duo Conroe 2.66 CPU
    Seagate 250 Gig HD
    Windows XP service pack 2

My problems is that it will not boot up , I can get into the BIOS also it passes the POST test but after that its blank.  I tried inserting my Windows Cd and booting from that and it still won't boot.

      More info would help...

When did this start / does the BIOS see the hard drive / is the boot sequence set to CDROM?

It just started happening yesterday.  The BIOs is detecting the hard drive and the cd-rom.  I have tried both boot sequences, (form HD and CD-rom), and nether have worked.  I can hear the rom reading the cd but nothing comes up on the screen.  I'm not getting any beeps or any messages in POST either, so i'm assuming the hardware is not faulty.

You should be getting some kind of POST beep. If not then there is definitely a hardware problem.  Did it ever beep on POST?

The system was runing fine there were no changes.  I do get the POST beeps as if nothing is wrong.  It passes the POST test with no problems, it's when it tries to load windows were the problem occurs.

Could this be a Hard Drive problem?

do you see any messages stating "press any key to boot from cd........" or similar?

have you tried using another cd drive
