PCI-E card in PCI slot ?
    « on: August 07, 2008, 04:33:23 AM »
my friend has a computer, that only has PCI slots and AGP slots. He heeds a decent videocard. (better than GeForce 6600 or Radeon 9800 pro) the problem is, all of the cards better than that are PCI-E. Will a PCI-E card fit into a PCI slot and work? Or can someone point me to a card thats PCI or AGP and still better than wats listed above, because i couldnt find such.

    thankyou

A PCI-E card will not fit into a PCI slot.

Your friend must have a really old computer. You cannot get agp or pci cards that are "better" than modern PCI cards. Tell your friend to buy a new motherboard.
