    Writing data to a CD?
    « on: August 08, 2008, 08:29:53 PM »
I'm trying to get DirectX into a blank CD so I can download it to my computer (it doesnt have internet) so I can play a certain game. Can someone tell me exactly how to do this? My mom tried twice and couldn't get it to work, but I don't know what she did. The computer is completely empty with only the basic programs that come with it, plus the game (which, you know, won't work.) because we wiped it. Please help! I've been waiting forever to play, and I don't think I can wait any longer!

It's a Compaq Presario. Windows DX.

And I don't know how to do that. (This is my grandma's computer.)

        The newest version. It's 11.0, I believe.

Directx11 isn't out yet, is it?

By the way, I moved this to the Microsoft Windows Section.

Windows XP or Windows Vista, ect...

You can find out by Right Clicking My Computer on the Desktop and going to Properties.

I fear you may have downloaded a version of DirectX that doesn't work with your Windows Version.

Oh, Windows  XP. EDIT: This one is Windows XP, too.

The thing is, the game worked just fine on the computer before I wiped it. And installing it on this one, I ran into no problems. Nothing said that it wasn't compatable. (DirectX, I mean.)
