receiving e-mail attachment photos
« on: August 11, 2008, 05:10:51 PM »
My computer is on windows XP

e-mail program is Outlook Express

I have a digital photo program Fine Pix viewer 5

Sometimes I e-mail a picture to a friend and the attached photo is so large it can't be viewed and enjoyed.

Also when I send to myself the format is like three times the size to view comfortably.

Help please

Basically, what you need here is a photo editing program which can re-size your images for you...so the file size isn't so large...and can also resize the image for you.

Infranview can do this for you.

FinePix Viewer has a resize function; it also has batch resize capability.  It will give you the option to replace the original image or save the resized images to another folder.

Set your picture size to about 650 pixels wide, max; and "keep" the aspect ratio.

I agree with Saviour that Irfanview is a great photo tool - it's my default photo viewer.

Nothing again Irfanview but, as I previously posted, FinePix Viewer makes resizing easy.  Perhaps the OP is just not aware of the need to resize photos for emailing or isn't familiar with  the resizing feature in FinePix Viewer.  The feature is not hidden; it's easily accessible.
