    When Printing Program Locks up
    « on: August 14, 2008, 07:44:14 PM »

     Hi All,
I hope somebody out there can Help me.

Just the Last few Days, No matter what Program I Print from , the program locks up and a White Space the size of the Print Preview that was just there remains, Sometimes bigger with just the Program Header remaining normal .

If I print a Page from Paint Shop Pro with just a Full Stop (a Dot) on it no problems,....but anything Larger or to Print a Full Page then the Full GUI is white with just the Program Header Visible and accessible, with the Mouse Pointer.....

For the Rest of the Screen (white space) the Hour Glass is there waiting for the Printing to finish. ,
I can go and open up another Program and do some other work , but if go back to the Program I'm printing from , it's still Locked with the White Space still there.

As soon as the Printing is finished everything goes back to normal

I have run a Virus Scan and have found nothing.

I have a Free Ram indicator, in the Tray on the bottom of the Screen, that tells me I have 1450 mbs   free. out of 2GB .

If I Close the Program I am printing from , sometimes it stops printing immediately.
which could be ½ way through a Printing of Page.

    Ron,

    I am using :

    Windows Pro SP3
    Dual Core 2 E4500 CPU
    2 GB Ram.
    Epson Stylus Photo R310

Has anybody any suggestions Please ?

    Cheers Ron.

    Welcome to the Forums.

What Operating System are you running?
    What model is your printer?
How long has this problem been happening?

Have you tried reinstalling your printer?

      Hi McLovin,

Thank you very much for that, it fixed it .

What I would like to know is ...

I have not done any changes in the recent Past to that at all. , but if it has fixed it, "who cares" ??

Another thing you may have a suggestion for is :

I have been using Generic Printer Cartridges for years now....and I have only ever had the Warning.... "Do you really want to use these Cartridges" etc

when I initially put a new cartridge in.....

      See My Post = http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=1028584

As you can see , I thought I had it fixed. Well , I went back and turned a couple of the Error warnings back on. and still did not get "Warning " again.

Now that I have done your adjustments and resolved the "Locking" problem
I now have the Warning.... "Do you really want to use these Cartridges" etc
again every time I print something.

I have gone back and turned off the 4 Error warning options.
But it still pops up every time, ..... and a funny thing is , even if I say"No,.. I don't want to use the wrong cartridges" ...... it still prints anyway.

I look forward to any suggestions you may have ....or anyone else.

      Thanks again McLovin

      Cheers Ron.  "

       HI,
The Above  is a C + P from the Whirlpool Forum http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies-archive.cfm/1033217.html, after I Posted the above Request for Help.

Well the Locking problem has been fixed but I now have the "Wrong cartridge Warning " back every time I print  Now.

I hope that clears up a little of the misunderstandings.

I had ticked the notify me of replies box..........  but haven't  received any notices of replies here.
