XP NOT LOADING. STOPS AT HIGHLIGHTED BAR. HELP!

Please can anyone tell how to resolve this  problem. I cannot get passed the bar but it goes onto black screen and writing. I have tried last old settings, but to no avail. Any help would be appreiated. Thanks

Did you try safe mode? Did it start doing this all of a sudden? Did you make any changes or install/download anything before this started?
