Fujitsu Siemens - Windows fails to load

Ina  rush of impatience I pushed the power off key and now windows XP fails to load. Nor can I get safe mode, or any other type of DOS C/: prompt. I can get to the BIOS setup and also to the Boot menu.

I have visited this site

and I have also downloaded from windows the 'setup boot disc from
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310994/en-us --- but the computer fails to reboot even from a USB drive.

My last hope is to go to the Fujitsu Seimens website in the hope they can help.
Any advice or shall I just bin it. There is only work stuff on the computer nothing to bad if I decide to buy new.

I should also add that the Windows XP came preinstalled so there is no WP boot disc.  , hence why I tried to download from the microsoft website.

Well... I eventually succeeded in downloading onto 6 floppies the XP bootable discs but whilst loading the last disc...a blue error screen came up and said... A error has been noticed and windows have had to shut down.

Downloaded a windiag tool (startup disc) and found that the memory is perfect.

This tends to lead me to believe it is a hardware issue. When attempting to get to safe mode, the computer hangs on winnt\system32\drives\agp440.sys.

I did come across this before but without a TEST computer and whatnot there is no hope of following it.

Does anyone think that reinstalling the OS will remove the problem? I don't have the discs to hand but could probably get a set and reinstall. I have contacted Fujitsu and will try and get a recovery disc from them - they do not readily sell them for the model I have. I did keep all the documents from the shop that sold me the laptop but they either forgot to include the dics or none were supplied. aagh!

The recovery discs from Fijitsu will most likely erase everything on your hard drive.

If you can borrow a Windows CD, you can perform a Repair Install:
