Author Topic: Problem with new speakers (Logitech x 540) All work except center speaker  (Read 3319 times)

    just finished setting up my new logitech x540 speakers and after testing it out i noticed that the sound is coming from all speakers except the centre speaker.

    Can anyone help me out?

    my sound card is the sb live! e800

    any advice is much appreciated.

    I don't know much about the x540 speakers but I figured I'll give some advice.

    First, I would check the wiring. Make sure everything is plugged in properly.

    How are these speakers plugged into the computer?

    Are these new speakers?

    Make sure the software settings reflect the amount of speakers you are using, as well as the sound scheme itself (5.1, etc.)

      Carbon -> I have checked the connections and it is plugged in just as ive said, with the three color coded plugs on the subwoofer plugged into the corresponding colour coded plugs on my sound card in the back of my computer

      Aegis-> What do you mean by software settings? Ive gone into control panel and set sound to 5.1 but my center speaker still isnt working. is that what you are alluding to?

        If i set it to 'matrix' mode that is when I can hear soujnd out of the centre speaker otherwise no

          no.

          matrix mode is for 5.1 sound on a 2.1 audio card. Its used when you hook up your speakers to video games or tv. My card is 5.1 so what im trying to do is get the maximum out of my sound.

            well im just tr4ying to get the best sound possible, isnt it supposed to work without matrix mode or am i wrong?
