locked registry that can not be accessed or changed by anyone

I have locked registry that is not able to be accessed by any user on my computer and in order for me to sucessfully install quicktime and itunes, i need to delete these several registry keys. any help would be greatly appreciated. I am told "Error while opening key." and, "Unable to save permission on ___. Access is denied."

You may be infected...some malware are known to lock down the registry and admin permissions...
