    IE crashes with Vista
    « on: September 23, 2008, 10:23:55 AM »
    Hi,
I'm running Vista on an Acer computer with 3 GB of RAM. I've had this machine about nine months. Last few weeks I've had the IE stop working at times. A message pops up telling me "Internet Explorer has stopped working. Microsoft is searching for a solution" (which is never found), and then IE reboots itself back to my home page. It seems to happen alot with Yahoo sports sites, but then, I'm on there site a lot, too. Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Mike

      1) Clear the Browser cache. From within IE: Tool>Delete Browsing History, Delete All; also, select "Delete files and settings stored by add-ons." Close and re-start IE.

      2) If 1) doesn't help, try IE in No Add-ons Mode: Start>type Internet Explorer in the search box>select IE (No Add-ons).

      3) If 1 & 2 don't help, reset IE: Start IE>Tools>Internet Options>Advanced Tab>under Reset IE, select Reset.

Post back and let us know how you made out.
If you don't have time to do it right
...when will you have time to do it over?

This may have helped. I've only had one crash since then, thanks.
