    Computer Wont start
    « on: October 25, 2008, 11:56:52 PM »
My computer wont start up when i turn it on

the only way i can make it boot up is if i pull the plug out and put it back in a few times
    then it will boot normally

when i try to turn it on with the power button it just makes these loud fan noises(like the fans going at max speed)
but it never boots up the screen just remains blank while to fans go on

Borrow a known good PSU of the same or greater wattage than the one in there and swap it in overnight...if the issue goes away you need a new power supply.
Make sure to disconnect all power to the machine and take anti static precautions...

Isnt installing the power supply really complicated seeing as it supply
power to every part of the computer

Im just asking because theirs like 10 wires sticking out of it.

Does it matter how much more watts i get
my old one has 300w so if i got like a 1000w psu
      it wouldn't matter right

Are you pulling my chain ? ?
Have someone who knows about machines look at it and see how that goes.

Although replacing a PSU is not that difficult it is best to have someone who has done it many times to help walk you through it...
Sorry if i was short with you in my last reply.
        You'll do fine.
Most plugs can only go in one way except for the floppy connector so as long as you make notes and take your time it should go smoothly.
