Is there a way to disable the windows button?
    « on: December 01, 2008, 02:24:00 PM »
You know, the button with the windows logo on it, I'm not sure if that's what its called but it's really messing up my computer because I use a full window game and I use that alt button a lot and sometimes I accidentally hit the windows button and then I have to wait a good 5 minutes for my computer to situate itself so I can get back into the game.

      KeyTweak
I have used this free program on a number of systems and I like it. It works for both XP and Vista but Vista requires it to be run as an administrator. It can be downloaded here. There are screen shots at the download site but the figure below shows the main screen. It shows a configuration where I have mapped the Caps Lock key to a Shift and the Right Alt key to a Windows key.

            Did you notice:

Some programs are listed as compatible with XP only, but they often work with Vista, as well.

correct just right click and run in compatibility mode any files that say xp only to check them...good point..

well, it really depends on what kind of keyboard it is. Some keyboards employ strange mechanics underneath each key, with all sorts of funky gizmos- essentially making placing the key back on impossible. Mostly, though, they easily pop off.

In fact, if the keyboard keycaps come off easy- that would be a workable solution too.
I was trying to dereference Null Pointers before it was cool.
