    Computer wont turn on
    « on: December 21, 2008, 09:47:03 AM »
Im using my laptop because my desktop wont turn on. Well actually it does but it wont display anything. I installed a evga 9600ggt about 3 weeks ago. I also installed a 500 watt power supply. About a week ago my computer ran into some issues turning on. It was the same as its happening now. Although back when that happened I would just turn it on and off until I got a display. I would get on on about the 6th time i turned it on. Now i dont get it on at all. Any Ideas on what i can do?

I would like to be able to turn my desktop on.

Also if anyone thinks they may have a solution. I will try to be on the chat for about 30 min after i make this post. I may be on even longer.

If you could borrow a known working monitor and hook it up on your computer to be able to check that its not your monitor that's haviung the problem.

      Inspect mainboard for leaking capacitors.

What was the problem on your computer? How did you repaired it?

Lostcoast told me to remove my video card to see if it worked without it. It did. H e then told me to put it back in to see if the card just needed resetting. I put it back in and it worked fine.
