Looks Like I'm Stuck in Safe Mode

i installed windows xp pro and when it was done my monitor looks like its in safe mode, and when i check the screen resolution it is set to lowest but it wont let me change it this is a gateway comp. can you help ?

Did you recieve a Driver CD with this Gateway ? ?
If so you need to install the drivers...start with the chipset first and then all others.
Installing the video driver will cure this issue...

I did not get any disks with this Gateway

You will have to visit their site then and find the drivers using your Model # and Windows version....
Or you can DLoad ; install and run Everest Home (Free) which will tell you every component in that machine.

I don't have internet on that computer so I'm connected to you on my laptop.
I have downloaded all the drivers from there web site and i will burn to disk,then I'm hoping i can install them from the disk is that possible?

Yes.
Make sure they are the correct ones for your Model# and as i said the chipset drivers go FIRST...

They have 2 sets one is ( XP ) the other is (XP 64 bit) I cant find a 64 bit any were so i will go with XP wish me luck

To find your Windows version open Windows Explorer ( not Internet Explorer) and clik Help/About Windows...

No luck the drivers I used did not fix the resolution problem, I installed the chip driver first then the video driver then the others no luck

DLoad, install and run Everest Home...
Run the Computer Summary scan and save it to a text file...
Post the results here and we'll hekp you track down the correct video drivers...
