    Help dell inspirion 530
    « on: December 23, 2008, 12:56:25 PM »
Can anyone here help me? I have a dell inspirion 530 (the slender model) it won't start up . It beeps continuously when i turn it on and doesnt produce an image on the monitor at all. I have opened it up and checked the wires. I found one (an p4 wire) that wasnt connected at all and i cannot find where it goes. But that may not even be the problem. any ideas?

Mine went fat. I didn't make it watch enough MTV to become obsessed about its weight.
Are there two pairs of P4 wires? In that case your system only needs one. Modern boards might require two.

First try resetting the CMOS by removing the BIOS battery.

If that doesn't work, remove all the hardware not required to turn the computer on and see if it'll boot.
(Only thing that should remain: CPU/heatsink, Motherboard, RAM, PSU)
