    Computer stuck at opening screen
    « on: December 27, 2008, 05:04:43 PM »
    I am not real sure if this is the place for this ? but here it goes (maybe some can point me in the right direction);
    I have a T-22 Thinkpad and when I turn it on it goes to the Thinkpad screen with the F1 and F12 help topics on bottom, left, of screen. There it stays! I have to repeatedly turn it off & on to get it to work. It works great when it is running though. Seems like if it is left off for a while, it works better.
    I was told it was my hard drive so I bought a new one, plugged it in and it does the same thing. Doesn't recognize the CD when installed either.
    I am totally confused/ignorant of this matter. Any clues? Thanks

    Can you get into the BIOS and check the Boot Order? Make sure it's the CD/DVD Drive First, and then the Primary Hard Drive.

    Now see if it boots into Windows.

    If it doesn't, put the Windows CD into the computer, restart, and see if you can boot from the CD.
