command & conquer generals- the only good c&c game that isn't ancient.
red alert 3 is ok, but the skirmish version is MUCH harder than the campaigns. (on the same level)

Dudes you guys got it all wrong, wrong. StarCraft is better than all of those other strategy games, I mean you can think up of so many strategies to comebat 1 players movement.

Starcraft, or C&C: Red Alert.
I enjoyed some other little-known gems a good few years ago - Warwind 2 and KKND - which no one seems to have heard of.
They're probably really bad games, but they seemed awesome at the time.
