two new sticks of RAM - now my XP shuts down
    « on: January 08, 2009, 05:03:33 PM »
Installed two sticks - one Gig each - for a total of 2Gig
Made sure that it was installed correctly but still doesn't work. Tried both seperatly in each slot and it will work fine.
But both of them together no luck
    E-Machine w6409 3.0 Ghz/800 Mhz/fsb/1M l2 cache
    processor is 531
That is pretty much all I know. I could find out more if you need me to. PLEASE HELP.
    Thanks

Are both of the memory stick exacly the same because that could be a reason or if your mother board doesn't support any more than 1gb of ram?

Have a read of your mother board manual and see what it says on ram installation.
