Delete u3 software from Sandisk Cruzer
    « on: January 17, 2009, 08:40:11 AM »
Hi Could someone please give me some advice. I have a 8gb sandisk cruzer which is great apart from it contains U3 software which I do not want. Does anyone know how i can get rid of it. My wife tried a format but it remained. I really do not need or want this software on my drive. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Regards
    Chris

i personally don't see why you need to delete it, it's not big and you can disable it (as i've done)

I once purchased a U3 drive from school. The first thing I did on it was remove U3.
IMO it's a pointless application that slows down the drive, and the computer.
What ever happened to plug and play? Now it's plug, wait for it to install and then play.

There was one time I unplugged my friends U3 device and I set the computer to stand by.
About 20 minutes later at home, I took out my laptop to find it hadn't gone to stand by. It had a BSOD, and the laptop was severely overheating.

the way it adds it's "U3 System" as a CD-ROM drive is nothing short of annoying... It's ONE drive. it should be shown as ONE drive.

On top of that PortableApps has everything you could need to run on a thumb drive...no u3 needed at all...
        Did i mention it's garbage yet ? ?
