Power Outage - Computer Help
« on: February 03, 2009, 03:13:55 PM »
Hi. I have a HP a000 computer. Last night there was a power outage and now my computer will not turn no. No, I did not have a power surge protector. The LED light on the back near where the power cord plugs in blinks when the computer is plugged in, but I get no response when I hit the power button. I've tried switching plugs and everything. Does this mean my mother board is fried or do I just need to replace the power supply?

Sorry if this isn't the right board.

Do you hear anything when you power the computer? Any fans moving???

I'm going to bet its your mother board.. But if you have a Volt meter you can test the power supply.

Some PSU's have protection for this some don't...
Remove the power cord and toggle the PSU's power switch a few times.
    Replace the cord and see...
