1- Hard Drive with your OS should be the MASTER disc.
2- New HD should be the slave.
3- Set jumpers on BOTH HD's (1- Master, 2-Slave)
4- Master connected to END of cable.
5- Slave connected to MIDDLE of cable.
6- Power to both HD's.
If you still have nothing give us MoBo ser. number, make, model, size of both drives, operating system and version, etc., etc.
Hope this helps.

Hello friend. The suggestion by "jim_me2" is , yes, very good. I just want to add something more to it. Be sure that your motherboard supports such a huge amount of disk space that you are trying to connect in the form of Hard Disk. Is yes then there are some other reasons for this problem. It may also be cause due to loose power connection to the hard disk. So try connecting only the new hard disk to check wheather it is working or not.
May be this will helpfull for you.

You have a Pentium MMX motherboard that Asus doesn't even have on their site anymore.

If you go to http://www.driverguide.com/ you will find a new BIOS download on the following page:

http://members.driverguide.com/index.php?action=dosearch&dp=3&sm=e&fzz=b&qm0a[1]=xe5i0108.zip&jmda[0]=and&jmda[1]=and&jmda[2]=and&jmda[3]=and&jmda[4]=and/   (You may have to remove the backslash[/] at the end of the URL.)

You have to join the board to access information but it's free and I have never had any problems with them.

The name of the file is xe5i0108.zip.

Let us know if this helps.
