    Computer Problems/Black Screen
    « on: April 11, 2009, 10:02:06 PM »
    Hello!
Recently I got Avast AV and it said that I had a virus and so on, Something about Kavos and a rootkit, so it tried deleting it, but failed, told me it was gonna do a boot scan, so it did that, found the viruses and when i logged back into windows, same thing, it found the viruses.

So I read that Trend Micro Systems is better then Avast so I uninstalled Avast and installed Trend Micro Systems Pro 2009, at that point I did a update for the new AV I had and it told me to restart to complete the update, so I do that, but once my computer starts and it says Toshiba, it tells me to choose between: Safe Mode, Safe Mode with networking, Safe Mode with Command Prompt, Last known good config, or start windows normally, if I choose last known good configuration or start normally, my screen goes black, and I never reach the windows logo with the bar, if I choose safe mod, I get a bunch of text, and the text just stays there.

    Any help is GREATLY appreciated

    Much Thanks

    JJ 3000

        REFORMAT time!!!!

Hold your horses King....this is probably the last thing we suggest here...and that's usually only after all other options have been pursued.

Okay. I only suggested cause i haven't experienced that problem before most of the problems here in my shop is that the computer just keeps on restarting so what i need to do is buy another power supply and that's it no more restarts. Do you think problems like this are caused by overheating cause i don't clean the inside of my cpu? By the way is trying to go to safe mode doesn't work either yes you said that there will be a lot of text popping there but, after that you sure it just freezes?
