Stunned with this "New User" Account!?
    « on: May 15, 2009, 01:18:15 AM »
    Hi Guys!! :)

After a long-2 time, I had an access to "User Accounts" under Control Panel. Stunned to observe a New Limited User A/c with the name---ASP.net Machine Account(Password protected)??!! :o

Where did this came from? What's its worth & what could be its PASSWORD?

Is it really necessary OR can I delete it from my Machine? ::)

    According to this:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555299

    Quote
ASP.NET Machine Account is created when the Microsoft .Net Framework 1.1 is installed onto a Windows XP machine.

Nothing to be worried about. Moving over to Microsoft Windows.

      Hey Dudeoxide! 8)

I need ur assitance! With ref. to your suggested Microsoft Article, as soon I uncheck "Use Username & Password to use this system" (Run>>Control userpasswords2)& click OK, it comes up with a window with Username of Administrator & asking me to punch in Password(& its confirmation)!!??

Once I have unchecked that option, why does it again prompting me to enter something for Pwd?! ::)

What should I finally do to REMOVE the ASP.Net account from my System? >:(

No, don't remove it. It's part of Microsoft Framework 1.1.

As for control userpasswords2, uncheck the box and press OK. If it prompts for a password and you haven't set one, leave it blank and press OK.
